Google Classroom Emails: Set Up Guardian Summaries
Parent Push monitors email sent to an inbox you connect. It does not connect directly to Google Classroom or see updates that stay inside Classroom.
Before connecting your inbox
Your school or teacher needs to enable guardian summaries and invite you. Accept the invitation in the inbox where you want to receive summaries. Google's summaries cover missing work, upcoming work and class activity; they may be sent daily or weekly, not immediately when a teacher posts an update.
Set up a Parent Push monitor
- Connect the Gmail or Outlook inbox that receives the guardian email; the address need not be a Gmail address.
- Choose Google Classroom emails when creating a monitor.
- Choose specific keywords for the school updates that matter to you, and review them before saving.
Parent Push checks received emails for relevant matches. A keyword or Classroom email does not guarantee an alert or a club booking. Always check the school's original message and booking page for details.
If no emails arrive
Ask the school whether summaries are enabled and your invitation was accepted. Check that the connected inbox is the invited address, and check your summary frequency and junk folder. Google does not send a summary when there is no activity to report.
